Android on Raspberry Pi

This will sound like an incredulously newbie question, but is it possible to install Android onto a Raspberry Pi unit?

I understand that Android is built on top of Linux, so it should be possible to install, or is it downright impossible?

Any help is appreciated

(PS - It's not really a cry for help as much as just seeing if it's possible. I like to tinker with these things myself, but it seems like such a random move to make)

Before anybody replies to this, I've seen that Android builds are focused mainly on Ubuntu builds (the example provided is 10.04), which is not compatible with the Raspberry Pi.

Do you think there's any workaround?
