Hi Guys,

I'm new user to this forum and to android programming, I'm planning to start app development, I was wondering If anyone can help make a decision. Please let me know which is good revenue wise, and the level of programming experience needed.

Thanks

You have the potential to sell more apps on Android because there are more Android devices than iOS devices. On the other hand Apple has a better market. Apple development start up costs typically cost more. I choose Android because of the lower startup costs and number of devices.

The users of iOS normally spend more money in the market.
To develop for iDevices, you have to pay $100 for year for your dev license, on Android it's free :).
Objective C is more difficult than Java, then if you don't have experience as dev, you should first learn Java.

For iOS you used to have to develop on a Mac too. Or, at least compile on a Mac. I don't know if this is still true today though.

I am fairly certain that this holds true, even today. Even if you use middleware such as Unity3d or UDK that support cross-platform compilation. You must be on a Mac to compile for both Mac os and ios. Its unfortunate, but true.
