Help Android (or just Note 4) sound settings?

Hey there! I'm new to Android Forums and Android for that matter so I'm just hoping I'm posting this thread in the right place :(
Anyway I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the sound/volume settings as shown below. Would someone be kind enough to differentiate the purposes of each sound, namely Notifications and System?

Hi. I think that I'm right in saying that the notifications volume controls the volume of notifications (SMS/text, Facebook, Twitter etc) and any other apps you may have installed with the option for an audible alert.

System basically controls the volume of audible feedback when pressing any key (phone keypad, back/previous apps buttons or any icon on the touch screen). I personally have this turned down at all times as the stupid plop noise it makes does my head in.

I leave system at half volume, and disable the plop sound as well as the keyboard sound instead.

As mentioned, notifications and ringtones are two different entities and each has a volume control. Likewise, media is also different and can have its own volume control as well.
