Hi,

I understand android is based on linux. I have browsed files and folders system foundout sbin had unix-linux like comnmands... Are these all the linux commands accessible? Are there specific android linux or unix commands?

Related question : Is a working knowledge of linux filesystem, necessary for android? To me working knowledge is about mounting files and things like that.

Another related question ? Where can I find the user desktop like in Ubuntu an user desktop files and else like widgets... or the applications icons an folders? I mean shortcuts to since in linux i understand things are in bin...i have a very basic knowlege of unix file system...

I have no knowledge of linux and I handle my Android fairly well :)).

As for the user desktop, I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for. Android has a shell which seems very different from the Linux desktop OS my friend uses. Basically you have a homescreen you can populate with shortcuts and widgets. To add shortcuts and widgets, simply press the menu button>add>choose either widgets or shortcuts and select the one you want.

That's some kinda complicated questions to answer here. Rather than try and typing for an hour I suggest you just start doing some research on your own. Start by searching Wikipedia for 'Android OS'. And as always Google is your friend and can answer your questions. There's plenty of info easily found by simple searches.
