Android P new gestures nowhere to be found?

I recently updated to Android P, mainly because of the new gesture based system, but when I look for it on settings, it is nowhere to be found! Anyone know why this might be?...

I'm on a Nokia 7 Plus, and I know that's what it should show, but for some reason it's not there, along with a couple of other settings.

From what I've read there is a bug on the Nokia so the menu appears to not be there.

Try one of these:

• On the main settings page use the search term "home" and the gesture options should appear,
• Or try looking in settings/system/gesture.

Unfortunately that is not the case, I've already tried doing this in the settings and it still doesn't show up. l think it may have been removed in DP4 for Android P, because I read about the OnePlus 6 losing it too - but the pixels are still fine. I didn't realise they were developing it seperately for all the Android P campatible devices?!

Android features are dependent on your carrier, some carriers don't want certain features active on their handsets so disable them.

It could also be there is a bug with these features and the carrier or Google has disabled them temporarily.

Have you tried tweeting Nokia to see if they can advise you as to where the settings are or why they are not active?

I wouldn't have thought that carriers would be involved in the beta programme; I'd have thought it was only phones without carrier-modified software that could join. Anyway they normally disable things that allow you to dispense with their services, not stuff like gesture navigation vs the old multitasking button.

But it seems clear that it's not just a matter of bugs, but of choices by manufacturer. Not only do I have 4 gesture options that you don't, only one of which is hardware-dependent, but you have 2 that I don't (neither of which would require specific hardware). So it seems clear to me that this is somewhere where the manufacturers are making their own choices. And conversely since you don't need anything more than a touchscreen for the gestures it seems it's inconceivable that that is missing due to a bug: if it works on the Pixels it should work on them all.

It would be interesting if anyone is testing this on an Essential, since I'd guess they will be very close to whatever the "stock" Android P beta is (the Pixel 2's active edge means there must be one extra feature in it above stock).
