Android Pay and Lock Screen

Hightech

Well-Known Member
Got the update from Google Pay to Android Pay this morning.

Seems the Android Pay REQUIRES use of a lockscreen.

I never use the lockscreen and find it very inconvenient.

I have uninstalled Android Pay and am awaiting Verizon's support of Samsung Pay!

Well, your post made a statement - no questions, so I acknowledged your post, and said "cool", since that's an option if you don't want to use lockscreen. Didn't mean to offend you in any way :)

Personally, I can't imagine storing my personal information (let alone financial information, and/or access to my payment methods) on a device without a lockscreen - but that's just me.

Hopefully Samsung Pay will do what you want.

IIRC, Google Wallet required you to unlock the Wallet app before using it for payment - so you still had to enter a pin. With Android Pay, you just unlock your phone and pay.

No offense taken.....Google Wallet required opening an app and inputting a pin...so a lock screen wasn't needed.

Also..at 66 I always have my phone on me. I guess if someone was an active 25 year old....a lock screen might be a good idea.

From what I hear....if Verizon ever gets their act together....you have to open the Samsung Pay app, verify with a fingerprint then pay. I guess we'll see!

After Android M, I would expect/hope Android Pay to do the same - verify with fingerprint, and pay.
