Hey guys been working on my phone but not doing such a good job as of now..but will keep at it..got a quick question..how do you start over with a fresh page?..remove widgets?

how the hell did you do that?? especially with the arrows to switch homescreens and the keyboard skin! thats awesome! any kinda tutorial or details?
 
Hi guys, just thought I'd say hello and that I've been watching this thread for a couple of weeks now.

As someone with zero photoshop experience (or imagination), I've gotta say how much of a help the first post from Paul has been. Without that, I wouldnt even know where to begin.

Anyways, have got my first screen or two pretty much sorted and will post them all up here once I'm happy with what I've got, no doubt it'll then get changed!!

Anyways, thanks again and keep up the good work.

For me using a SGS its menu button then edit then you can drag and drop if you are using Froyo or I think in Eclair there is a delete button on the top right of the page (using tw launcher) Using LP its menu button, preferences then home screen settings

Firstly I would like to thank all for a really imaginative and very helpful thread.

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S and liked the way you could customise the screen.

So anyhow I followed the thread read all the pages and downloaded and paid for launcher pro plus installed desktop visualizer and copied (borrowed) some of the pictures.

So I followed instructions and started with I thought easy shortcut.
using the 50's 2x101 calender picture in desktop visualizer I linked this to the calendar application and cleared the label. Then when I clicked OK it says failed to create shortcut or widget.

I have used the search option in the forums and google but I couldnt find the same problem.
I have set launcher pro plus to 4 columns and rows to 5 also set auto fit items on.

Sorry if I am being a noob but I thought id try this bit before getting into my own design bit.

Any who, I've been looking through this thread for the past few days and I've been trying to create my own themes, but Photoshop hasn't been to kind to me. So I decided to use the ones that where already made. My problem, however, is that I'm having a hard time getting these:

I'm not really in to my phone like I should be so I have to ask, how do I know what my color resolutions on my phone are? And how can I get these icons resized to fit my screen.

what do you mean by "having a hard time getting these" in re: Krze's icons?

Here's the link xda-developers You'll need to download it and open it on your pc then usb it to your phone or put the zip on your phone then use astro or some file manager to open it .

Also your Captivate is the same 480 x 800 as my Vibrant so there are several links in the very first post of this thread that you could use for icons. Just look for the ones that say 480 x 800 .

Yes the last part helped a lot. Thanks.

What I meant was, I opened the link you posted and (on my pc) my DriverBoost program comes up instead of the pics. So I'll just have to use photoshop to crop each picture to the size I want. I'll take a look at the first page like you suggested.

Sussed it .

and to anyone else out there who may have a similar problem and are using FS explorer , dont go into your folders and search for your images, just select gallery when attaching a picture and choose from there, works great.

I resized Krze's icons a while ago for a 480x800 resolution.

I know you said that you "sussed" this whole thing, but I just thought that I would let you know why the 50's icons may not work for you. They were created for the DROID Eris, which has practically half the resolution of your device. So, even if the image would place in the widget, it would probably be distorted or incorrectly spaced.

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy has a resolution of 480x800. Just look for icons with that resolution listing (like all of the ones I posed for the Incredible) and they should place correctly.

Also, I find that Astro File Manager works really well for selecting the images for Desktop Visualizer. It shows a thumbnail of the image as well as the files name- this way you can make sure the image you're selecting is the same as the widget size you're creating.

Don't give up on it! It's super cool when it's done!

I see some of the images are fairly self-explanatory, but for the majority of them I can't tell what label you would be looking for.

I can resize them for you, but if you need me to do the labels, too, I'm going to need to know what you want them to say.
