Here's your solution right here look for WiFi File Explorer PRO in the play store. There's also a free version to try out. I'm using it on my GS3 and Nexus7, it works in a browser so you can also use it to transfer files off your computer.
This sounds really interesting but I am wondering if the wife transfer rate is not too slow for movies especially the hd ones. Also I have used es file explorer to connect to my computer and phone as ftp but I am having trouble putting my music in a play list so that I can have it organized and listen and have the ability to search the songs. I will also try the above method because my galaxy s2 has plenty of unused space which would look great addition to my nexus 7
