Android phone for Verizon

whoa2010

Lurker
I wanted to know which android phone i should get for verizon. I need a phone that has a good keyboard, easy to use and i think i can handle the rest. any suggestions? i cant decide.

lol.. im mainly a person that wants the best stuff. im probably going to be a game freak and might use it a lot. im thinking of dx but the only con is the big screen. dont want it to be uncomfortable in my pocket. Thanks for the help though

I'm also a Verizon user diving into the Droid market, and basically at this point, are there any reasons to talk me down from the Droid X? My upgrade is the same day as the release of the Droid 2, but reading up on that, I don't know if it's worth grabbing it over an X (except if I can get that glorious R2-D2 version) and the specs on the Ally and Incredible, especially the memory, don't seem as impressive as X. The Ally's far lower price point has really been it's only advantage over the X so far for me, and with Droid 2, I was hoping for a DX price drop, but it's probably too soon for that to happen. So of all of this, which direction should I go in?

the droid 2 is basicly an upgraded verison of the droid 1 with a better processor and more ram i think. Well i think im goign to get the droidx. i would get the incredible but i heard the battery life is short. lucky for you reaper cuz your upgrades soon. mines next month. I think you can upgrade early to droid x and im trying to convince my dad to get it sooner for me

Better processor, more ram, more internal memory, better keyboard, but basically the same form factor. I use the droid x and love it, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I wish I could use the game gripper on it as I could if I got a Droid 2. If you play emulators a lot it's a great thing to have. Of course you can always just use a wii-remote but it's not as good on the go.

Can't go wrong with Droid X/Droid 2. Both have the same processor, same amount of RAM, etc. I am guessing Droid 2 may be slightly faster due to the smaller screen size. Droid X does have a better camera tho.

I would probably choose Droid 2 due to the fact that it will have 2.2 out of the box (Droid X expected to get 2.2 in early September). Also the keyboard/dpad would be nice to have (and from what I heard, D2 keyboard is supposed to be better than original Droid).

2.2 (or FroYo) includes JIT compiler (apps run faster), some apps being able to be installed on SD Card, Adobe Flash 10.1, better exchange support and some things which I am forgetting (better market, better gmail app).

I am guessing Droid 2 may be slightly faster due to the smaller screen size.

I don't think this will be true because it's the same amount of pixels. Typically smaller screen phones are faster because they are HVGA rather than the Droid/DroidX/Droid2's FWVGA.

this i what i hate. 2 phones that i like but can decide. i would love to have a phone with a good camera as well as a good keyboard. hate picking phones..lol

The Droid 2 will have a good camera, you don't need 8 mega pixels to take good pictures. The Camera on my Captivate is only 5 MP and it takes beautiful pictures.

i think im going to go with the D2. now the fun part to convince my dad if i can get it early since i will be giving him my ipod touch
