Hi

Can you help me, my UMI Hammer mobile phone erase half of my data on external Micro SD card. I've got 32GB of data and when I copy all 32GB of files, after reboot of the mobile phone, more then half have been deleted.

This version of the mobile phone, can be expanded up to 64GB memory by using of microSD card.

please help

You probably have a counterfeit microSD card xall666. By counterfeit I mean the size of the card is not actually what it says on the card. I had a somewhat similar problem with a card I bought off of Ebay a while back. My story begins with the second post on this page.

Yes, sadly I agree, you have almost certainly been scammed.

There's a little program called htest2w you can download for a PC and use it to test cards. Chances are if you do that (using a card reader) it will show you that your card is really 16GB or even smaller. So when you copy files to it, what happens is that the first lot are written fine, when when you get to the end of the actual capacity of the card the new files overwrite the ones which were written previously - hence at least half of your files are missing.

It's a very, very common con: take an old, cheap, low-capacity card, hack it so that it will tell the device you put it in that it has a larger capacity, and sell it as a high-capacity card. There's a good chance that the buyer won't fill the card immediately, and even if they do they may assume, as you did, that the problem was with the phone. So by the time the buyer works out that the card is the problem, the scammer will have closed their eBay store and opened a new one, complete with a new set of fake testimonials. The only solution is (a) to only buy from established, reputable sellers with a solid returns policy (e.g. Amazon or a bricks-and-mortar store - and even then, test the card once you get it), and (b) to always remember that if a deal looks too good to be true this is probably indeed the case.
