Android questions

I was skeptical at first, but I love the Android OS on my SGII. By far the best OS on any smart phone. Anyway, since I'm a little anal about things, I have a couple questions:

1) Is there a way to clear out some of the Apps that came with the phone? For example, I don't need Books, Social Hub, Mini Diary, etc.

2) Is there a way to get rid of the blank home screens that don't have any apps on them?

I think that's it for now.

To get rid of some of the pre installed apps you have to root your phone. You can also jet download a different launcher (Launcher Pro or Go Launcher EX) to hide apps you don't use. Also it lets you choose how many screens you want.

awwh, so that's why I keep hearing the word "root". I thought it had something to do with changing from different OS versions (i.e. 2.3.4). Thanks, I'll start researching how to root your phone and Launcher Pro.

You can get rid of a blank home screen the same way you get rid of a shortcut from the home screen...... EDIT <WRONG INFO POSTED> I've read that you can make folders in the Application screen and then just drag all the apps you don't want to use in the folder so they are out of the way. I haven't tried this though.

You can get rid of a blank home screen the same way you get rid of a shortcut from the home screen...... hold one finger on the blank home screen until the trash can appears at the bottom of the screen and then drag to the trash can.
That was the first thing I thought would do it, but a trash can doesn't appear for me. Only Widgets, Shortcuts, Folders and Wallpapers. :(

I just got rid of a empty page last night. I brought it back and tried again. You are right about the long press only bringing up the widget/folder menu. Do a zoom out type pinch on your home screen and it will bring up little thumbnails of your home screens. Now you can drag them to the trash. Sorry about the mis-info.

hi everyone,
i have just bought the samsung galaxy s2 and i have some problems with the languages in the text messages. I actually insert Greek as an option and I can only write in Capital letters instead of short letters. Does anyone know the reason????

Thank you
