Hello all,

I am using android gingerbread version with pattern lock installed as i have a lot of data in it.
I got a doubt that is there any way to open my phone (ie open the lock) if i lost unfortunately?
Is my data safe from others ??

pls help me.

There are ways around the pattern lock, but they are intricate, time consuming, and you have to know what you are doing. I believe they also require certain settings to be turned on in order for it to work. In reality, unless you have valuable information I the phone (like industry secrets for a pharmacutal company or national security data, but then why is any if that on your phone to begin with), and you phone is stolen solely to access that information you don't have to worry about that. And there are apps available that let you remotely wipe the phone.

In short, for most people the pattern lock is more than enough security, and if you are really worried about your data falling into the wrong hands, don't have it in your phone.

Oh, and what he said about making sure the data is encrypted.
 
Actually, a pattern lock is a lot of security. You can search on Google for articles where even the FBI can't open the pattern lock and had to file a case complaint where Google needs to give them the password because they can't do it on their own. Your data is safe.
 
I advice you to use Gallary Lock and most importantly don't allow your phone to fall in wrong hands. A year back I was quite possessed about my data security and did lots of security stuffs, encryption and all that.

After some month I forgot my password and when I was interesting to retrieve my data from safe I just couldn't. My security procedure was something like one way out and I just lost everything in desperation of getting in to wrong hand.

Now I'm using gallary lock and for documents I use Google Drive.
