Help Android stock email app

JShed

Lurker
So I got my new LG G4 (Android version: 5.1) last night. I still own my LG G3 (Android version: 5.0.1) and it's been paid off. Both phones were bought through T-Mobile and are not rooted.

I do not like having auto-sync enabled for a few reasons. However, I do a pretty good job of manually syncing/updating apps as I go, particularly the stock Email app, and all I need to do to update my email account is hit the Refresh button on my G3 as shown below:

But on the new G4, there is no refresh button. This is all I see:

Right now, the only way to sync/update my email account on the G4 is to go to Settings -> Accounts & sync -> Email and sync it from there. Too much work, IMO. I'm not sure if it's because of the differing Android versions I have.

Is there a way to download the G3 version of the email app onto my G4? If so, how? I'd rather not download a third-party e-mail app. In general, I don't like downloading apps unless the stock apps don't do the job for me.

Thanks for the help in advance!
