Our Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0's storage folder seems to be filling up with 10-digit (numeric) folders that all contain the same files. The path for these folders is: Android\data\com.android.email\serial\ then the mysterious 10-digit (numeric) folders. Each folder contains the following: "fixedStroke.png" (0.1kb), "fixedStroke2.png" (2.2kb), and "sprites.raw" (0.1kb). I haven't yet determined what events are creating these folders (and strange contents) but they're increasing in number and nothing seems to be deleting them automatically or otherwise.
I'm afraid to delete any of them without knowing if it is safe to do so or what their purpose is. So far, there are 34 of these "folders" under the "serial" directory.
Why are they there? Will they keep multiplying? Will they go away by themselves after a while? Is it safe to delete them? Should I leave them alone? Clearing the email cache does not delete these folders or their contents.
I've looked everywhere and the only thing I found was someone saying his photo gallery was filling up with hundreds of "fixedStroke.png" files. From what I can tell, no one has given him an answer to any of his questions about these files either.

*** UPDATE ***
After a minor bit of experimentation, I found that the dated, 10-digit folders and contents (as described in the text above) are created every time email is SENT from the account. The contents of the email and whether it has an attachment is irrelevant. A folder is created every time email is SENT and it is never deleted.
