Android stuck on recovery mode screen

I have an Android Tabtronics Tablet running the 4.2.2 operating system which jammed on the Android screen. I can navigate to the recovery screen and scroll down the options to Factory reset but once I select this the tablet sticks on the recovery mode screen and does not complete the reset. Can anyone advise how I can restore the tablet to functionality please?
