Let's start with defining how much battery is it actually using.
For example: You may have charged your battery to 100%, after 1 hour of no use, your battery may have dropped to 98%. At that time, you may see Android system having consumed 50% of battery. That may seem terrible, but remember that it only consumed 50% of 2% battery charge, so about 1% of full battery charge - which is really not too bad.
Try this - charge your phone to 100%, reboot your phone, and then use it as usual. At the end the day, look at your battery usage and provide details - get screen print of battery screen, tap on the graph at the top, and get screen print, on battery usage screen, tap on the top 3-4 entries and provide screen prints of those.
With that information, somebody here may be able to help figure out if your battery life is bad or good, and possible solutions (if needed)
Edit: Oh, and about RAM usage, please don't worry about it. Let the OS handle the memory. Just because RAM is in use doesn't mean that your phone is overloaded. Free RAM is unused RAM, which is useless RAM. The OS will cache the apps that are not actively in use, but the OS thinks that it will be needed "soon". If you start up a different app, the OS will just overwrite the data in the RAM. Loading data from the internal storage to RAM takes time. Clearing data from RAM and overwriting it takes negligible time.
So, again, don't worry about RAM usage - don't install apps that claim to free up your RAM (don't install task killers either).
