Android tablet for video production teleprompter

So, it seems the iPad and iPhone were the first to really catch on for those of us in video production. Luckily, I went all in on Android. But when it comes to apps and other stuff to help with video production work, iOS has a lot of support and Android not quite so much. I've found three decent teleprompter apps. I don't have a tablet yet (I'll get to that in a second), but I've tested the first two on my GNex and they work pretty well.. there's still much room for improvement, though. The third I haven't bought.

If you've never used a teleprompter (I'm talking about the whole setup here, not just software)-- then you don't realize how bulky and expensive the things are. In addition to all of the camera, support, and lighting equipment you also have to lug around. So using a tablet cuts out A LOT of the otherwise necessary components and also cuts down necessary support equipment. It also literally cuts down the price by thousands of dollars.

If you search Youtube for DIY iPad Teleprompter, you'll see the basic design that works. Here's an example.

I'd like to know if anyone has come across product for sell that works similarly, but has a more finished/ professional look. I've been doing a setup with a laptop teleprompter just to the side of the lens for a couple of years now, but I want a real setup to offer on higher end promotional type stuff.

And for anyone else using an Android tablet as a teleprompter, I'd like to know what size you're using. I'm thinking a 10" model is pretty much necessary. I don't think a 7" (like Kindle Fire size) would work very well at much of a distance. I'm personally looking at the Acer A500 (refurb).

I've posted a related thread about controlling the tablet from a phone. Here's the link if you're interested or have an answer.

So I'm hoping I find someone who has been down this route with an Android tablet rather than an iPad (I could find plenty of help for that). But if not, hopefully this can be of help to someone in the future.

I think people will come to this thread down the line through search results (there's currently no thread I could find through search on this topic). So if you come across this way down the line and I might not be checking this section, feel free to PM me about it.
