Help Android tablet has sim card but no phone access

hey everyone,new here. i have an LG Gpad 7.0 running android 4.4.2
this tablet is the 4G LTE version,meaning it has a micro sim slot. i can't seem to find a phone/messaging app anywhere on the tablet.
help?

Guessing it's not meant to be used for calls but used only for data. So pretty sure if you got the tablet for phone uses, you're out of luck.

Guessing get something like Hangouts Dialer which pretty much does the same thing but it kinda charges you depending where you're calling (like outside of US, inside US and Canada is free)

Sounds like the sim slot is only there for your LTE data access and its not provisioned for 'ordinary' telephony stuff... its only there to let you do data.
