Android Tablet Re-Imaging

ddt

Lurker
Hey all,

I was curious if anyone was aware of any tools that allow the equivalent of re-imaging something like Windows? Say you are in a public environment that lends out tablets. When they are returned, you need to restore them to a specific state with particular applications, settings, etc, and insure anything from the previous user is gone. Currently this is being done manually by resetting to factory default and then manually re-adding everything. I wonder if something like MyBackup Pro would work -- just restore to factory defaults, reinstall the app, then restore from that backup. Obviously this still involves some manual steps, though, so something completely automated would be ideal.

Thanks!

What you wana do is root the device then make a nandroid back up (restores everything to EXACTLY how it was backed up)

And open to abuse. True
You could unroot/root each time though. Would still save a lot of time
