Android Tablet Rooting issue

Hey,
I recently bought a NuVision tablet TM1088. and I can't for the life of me figure out how to root this thing!

It's an Android 4.4.2, Firmware 4.5, Kernal 3.3.0 hcz@hcz-desktop #23 Tues. June 24 20:11:14 CST 2014 Build #TM1088_20140628.

If any of that helps... I don't know if it's too new or what but I've tried about 5 different methods and nothing yet.

I don't find anything anwhere about rooting this particular tablet. Does anyone have any advise at all??

Just out if curiosity... What are the exact 5 methods that you have tried to use to root the tablet so far?

Oh goodness! I was working on it into the wee hours of the morning yesterday and now today and have uninstalled the one's that didn't work and I have short term memory issues... lol

Let's see, I've tried a program called UnlockRoot. No go there, Then I tried Kingo... nothing there. Then some program that was all in Chinese and that didn't work either. Oh yeah and SuperOneClick. I'm sure there was one or two others but I can't remember now....

Oh and Towelroot!

Thanks for the reply

Beau

Lol... It happens, we all can forget from time time!
I'm not a 100% sure if it will work on your device but have you tried "Cydia Impactor" yet ?
Cydia Impactor

Weil I installed it. Ofcourse I have no clue how to use it. I started it up and it says, "# drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su" (whatever that means) so I just hit start and it says, "device could not be found." :( tried that driver build thingy just for giggles and it says, the system policy has been modified to reject unsigned drivers.

There is a setting in Windows (yes there is) to accept the unsigned drivers! I don't remember where that setting is though in there. But it's maybe in Device Manager or something.

Okay so I disabled the driver signature verification and built the driver, then hit start on the drop SuperSU su to /system/xbin/su section again. This time it did some more stuff and said... "Signature bugs unavailable" ?

I clicked on fastboot and chose reboot and the tablet rebooted so it's definitely recognizing it.

Is USB debugging on in the settings of the tablet?

It's rooted! Woohoo!! lol If you have a NuVision TM1088, Android 4.4.2. Here's what worked for me...

Download and install PDAnet to both your computer and tablet.

Download and install SuperSu and RootChecker to the tablet and KingoRoot to your computer.

On Tablet:
Turn on USB debugging. Settings > Developer tools > USB debugging.
Connect to your PC via any USB port > Turn on USB Storage > Open PDAnet > Activate USB Tether.

On PC:
You may have to connect PDAnet on your PC but mine did it automatically when I activated USB tether on my tablet. Then open Kingo Root, click root and pay attention to your tablet because a little window will pop up asking to grant permission to SuperSu. I missed it the first few times and had to start over. Once you see that and allow permission, open rootchecker on your tablet and verify. With any good fortune you'll see Congrats! you're rooted!

Hope this helps someone else! :)
