Android Tablets- need help!

Hello I am new to this forum and I need help, I came upon this company called Kiztek, they sell tablets, the website looks professional, just haven't heard much about them, anyways the reason I am here is because they have this unbelievable sale going on this week for a 10" android tablet. I am very interested in getting one as the price can be passed up. I watched the video that was posted about it and it looks very responsive and high quality. I was wondering if you guys would give me some feed back on this and weather or not you think it would be a good buy.The website is Holiday Specials | KIZTEK Thanks for helping me out by taking a look and telling me your thoughts. The sale looks like it ends this week so the more information the better.

I hate to rain on your parade, but I'd have serious reservations about them. First, as you said, they are an unrecognized brand. This usually means they are rebranded Chinese imports. It's not that they are necessarily bad quality, but the support is almost non-existent.

I also looked at the spec's. The 7" less expensive tablet it a resistive screen and both are running Android for phones. You should look for Honeycomb at least. And there's little chance that these will be upgradable to ICS.

Sometimes an old adage it appropriate ... it something seems too good to be true, it usually is. Caveat emptor.

Don't all tablets come from China or Taiwan ?? I was considering a honeycomb tablet, but have found it isn't all it seems to be, I have 2.3 on my phone and love it.So I am really just looking for a medium for it. I am not worried about the ICS because who knows how long that will be... I actually have had the opportunity today to play with the E- journeyman ( after a few calls to kiztek, come to find out there only a few hours away from me) I am dead set on this tablet now, for less then 300$ it also has a year warranty, case/keyboard, stylus and sd card ! I have yet to find a deal that compares.! The e- journey lived up to my expectations. And ontop of that there customer service surpasses many companies I have dealt with. I found this deal and am very glad I did !! Anybody else have input ?? Thanks

Yup. But so many of them come from unknown manufacturers, that have little or no support at all. Any problems, you are on your own. There is a world of difference between say Asus and something like Guangzhou Won Hung Lo Crappy Cheapo Tablet Co, Ltd.

Presumably Kiztek are the US importer, who'll be providing warranty service and tech support. So you'll probably be OK here, if you just want the tablet to do what it says on the box and no more.

For $300 you can get a used Samsung Galaxy Tab 7", a Kindle Fire, the new Color Nook coming out, a used Xoom, a used transformer. All of these are brand names with support and communities out there. Too many times you see people posting poor experiences with Android tablets because they brought the cheapo brand thinking it will perform like an iPad. If you are dead set on getting this one then go ahead and if you can post your experiences (good/bad) with it. Good luck.

The Fire and the Nook Color (older model) are both $200. The Nook Tablet (new) is $250.

well i know this all from experience,While researching the company I checked KIZTEK out and know they have Engineering & Design personnel on staff. The founders of the company are all electrical engineers and have the degrees to prove it . They aren't just a tablet reseller. I havent had any problems with the tablet i currently have from them and any questions i do have or run into they are immidiate with the response. Sometimes it isnt all about name brands ! And i don't want a nook, horrible experiences with then as well as the kindles and problem with used is that the warranty sometimes doesnt take into affect anymore most warranties are for the original owner.. They have a ustream channel set up that people can go out and have then show how to do stuff or ask questions for this sale, its going on towards then end of the week. This will be interesting to watch for sure !
