I have an LG696P android and the time and date has went back to 1980 and does not have a manual reset option what can I do to get the date and time straightend back up.

To set the device clock to automatically update based on what time zone it is in, follow these steps:
From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Tap System settings.
If necessary, tap the Menu key to switch to list view.
Scroll to 'SYSTEM,' then tap Date & time.
Select the Automatic date & time check box.
