hello i bought a Karbonn a9* smartphone with ice cream sandwitch android. the seller told me that the android update option will be available soon, But my phone isn't showing me the option of software update

It will show if an update is made available by Karbonn, or your network if you bought it through a carrier.
If they don't release one then they don't. But it's hardly unheard of for manufacturers to take their time releasing an update, or for sellers to know a lot less than they claim. Give it a bit more time.
