Android update software problem

[butterpuff]

Hi.

I have mobile with Android OS 4.0 Icecream Sandwich now i want to upgrade it to 4.1. In my phone settings->about phone->software update option is not available. What that mean? where i can find this option? can i still update OS without rooting it??

You might try to dial *#*#2432546#*#* ... so your phone will ask the update servers for updates.

Well.. you have a few options. You can only upgrade if there is an update for your phone.. which may or may not be the case.

You can check the websites for the phones manufacturer, or your cell provider to see if they have published one,

Its also possible that some people may have made a custom rom for your device. However these 'might' damage your phone if you apply them incorrectly (so make sure you read all of the instructions) , and may also void your warrenty.
