Help Android Version on Galaxy S4

eznoh

Newbie
Should I have Android 5 by now? I have a GT-I9505 and it's running 4.4.2. I'm thinking there hasn't been an update since updates come from the carrier and I'm using an AT&T mvno.

OK. You have the international model of Galaxy S4, i9505, on one of the Middle East firmwares for CSC code OJV. The OJV code covers several firmwares and you will need to post your Product Code, using Phone Info that is mentioned in my earlier link, for a definitive answer from me. All of the OJV firmwares, AFAIK, have received the Android 5.0.1 update. For reasons you may not have received an update, see #1.4 of my previous link.

BTW, 1.4 mentions using Kies to update. I installed Kies and it would not run and suggested Smartswitch instead. I downloaded and ran Smartswitch and it said I was up-to-date.

Luckily for you... you've got something better than Samsung Kies and Smart Switch...

You've got an ironass! ;)

Product code XSG was the old Product Code for the United Arab Emirates. For some reason, known only to Samsung, this was changed to XSI and would explain why you have not received an update to Lollipop.

Your best bet is to download the firmware that I am linking you to, below, and flash it to your phone by following the instructions and video contained in the links of
