Android without FB

Hi All,

I have always used a samsung device as my android phone , but i despise Facebook and i see that the latest samsung devices come pre installed with FB as a system app, that you can only disable and not delete, unless you root and break knox!!

Which new android device can i buy that doesn't have FB preloaded as system app?

Many thanks

Robert

You probably my won't find any new devices without FB embedded into Stock OS/ROM.. BUUUUT you can get certain devices (like Moto E4 Plus) that are Rootable and have Custom ROMs to flash, none of our customs have FB in them at all. Ever.. Plus the customs have many more options that aren't available with stock.. Easy-peasy

I'll have to look for the link, but on my Galaxy S9+ I was able to completely remove FB. I'm on Verizon, maybe the service provider makes a difference?

edit: My phone is not rooted.
edit #2: found the link, which actually an app on the PlayStore. I paid for it, name is "Package Disabler Pro + (Samsung)". You might find one for your flavor of phone.

I also face the same preinstalled facebook system app issue in my Samsung 6. I am going to switch to moto or any other recommended new Android device as I am just fade up with too many ads. I do not know how some haunted apps automatically downloading in my mobile like Holon manager app and few else.. It is very disturbing.

You can also go to Settings - - > Apps, tap the menu in the upper right and select 'Show System Apps'. Scroll down to any bloatware you don't want and tap it. If you can't uninstall it, you should be able to disable it - it's still on your phone, but it's not using any resources and it won't show up in the app drawer.

Gmail is all good, just don't understand why Samsung thought it was a good idea that they will force you to have Facebook without option to uninstall.
Yes you can disable and force stop, but why should I be forced to have FB, they then go and make it only possible by rooting, which they don't want you to do,and so to punish the people who root, they break Knox and make the actual Samsung apps unuseable
It just makes no sense to me.

I don't see what's the part you all don't get..the op already expressed in soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many ways(except in little sticks and circles) HE DOESN'T WANNA EVEN SEE THE FB APP IN HIS PHONE..and you all still trying to tell him that it's ok and to simply disable it..lol..
Is not that hard to understand.

Oh wee do understand what OP said. I figure if I can spend under $5 (US) for an app to permanently remove it from my phone OR I can spend 20 times that for a new phone I'd be willing to forgo the more costly route. Or I might try any/all of the other suggestions to hide/disable it. But sure, diss us for suggesting possible alternatives to spending more money to NOT see one particular app.
