I have an android but use to have an iphone. I can send texts to other iphone users but not receive. Help!

The problem is probably with the other people's iPhones. They are most likely still trying to use iMessage to send texts to you, even though you no longer have an iPhone, and iMessage only works to other iPhones (Apple design it that way).
So you need your friends to change their phones' settings to make sure they use standard SMS rather than iMessage when sending texts to you. It's not a problem with your phone.
