Root androidadvices bricked my phone

Galaxy s
tried to update to 2.2.1 with odin

Read the instructions many times
read each instruction at least twice whilst going through the steps

odin appeared to upgrade got the green pass then phone switched off bricked
no amount of pressing the power button will switch it on again

who do i send the bill to for a new phone.

Try getting into recovery mode:
Power phone off and wait 60 seconds.
Press and hold the following keys: Volume Up + Home + Power keys.
Release power key when you see the Galaxy S I9000 screen.
Keep the Volume Up and Home keys pressed.
You will see a screen with a lot of coloured text on it.
Look for wipe data/factory reset.
Use volume up/down to navigate to it.
Press the home key to ok the action.
On the next screen will be a lot of NO's with 1 YES in the middle.
Use volume up/down to navigate to YES, press the home key to ok the action.
 
Did you flash the correct Odin file? There are a few Galaxy S phones, and flashing the wrong Odin, or using the "Phone" button instead of the "PDA" button will brick a device quite well.

Thanks but i have done that several times phone still dead and wont switch on

So which Galaxy S variant do you have?

I gave you the recovery mode for the Galaxy S GT-I9000, which is the international version.
If you have one of the variants, Fascinate, Vibrant, Captivate the 3 button recovery mode is different for each one.
Google it and you will find it.
 
Well, this can't hurt, but can you get into Download again (Battery out, USB connected, Hold down volume-down)?

If so, re-Odin.

Yourself, who do you think will pay for it? Odin is not a recognised legit flashing tool.

you pays your money you takes your chance.

If you had done it correctly it would not have been bricked. BTW I have yet to see a fully bricked SGS.

Google for "jtag galaxy s" this will help you get into download mode.
 
remove the battery plug it in with usb to pc (no battery)
Then try download mode (volume down, home, power)

Maby then it will work
 
was your phone completely dead as if you were trying to power it without a battery ? well mine is i cant get any reaction from it only black well the jig help ?

Totally dead may as well not had a battery in it
Did put on charge before i used the jig just to make sure.
