Angry Birds Rio

Problem solved! Turns out I (like many) had a corrupt folder which wasn't allowing apps to install straight to the SD card. Here's how to fix that courtesy of one reviewer on Amazon, no root needed:

Hook up your phone to your PC, find the device in windows explorer, CUT and paste the .android_secure folder (near the top of the list) onto your PC (this folder is corrupt). The folder will recreate on your phone when you unplug from the computer. Disconnect your phone and than install Rio again. After installing, go back to the .android_secure folder on your computer and copy the files in the folder back into the .android_secure folder on your phone. Worked Great for me and many others!! Excellent Game once you get it installed!

PS- for this to work your SD card MUST be mounted or you will not see the .android_secure folder.

It's worth mentioning that the folder is hidden, so you need to make sure your PC (or Mac) is set up to view hidden folders.

I used the above method step-by-step and it worked like a charm!
 
This game was my first experience with the whole Angry Birds craze, and I must say it is definitely very addicting. :)

Nevermind i just went to the amazon app store and it says at the top of the screen.... "The Amazon App Store is only available to customers located in the United States"

Why do they do stupid things like this. Are they afraid they would make to much money if they opened it to the rest of the world.
 
It's just another American company being racist as usual :P

Jokes aside, it happens very often. It's probably something to do with the legal department of different countries. Also, they probably want to gauge the market before releasing it to the rest of the world. If it's going to be a bust, you want to limit the damage as much as possible.

google went through the same thing. They weren't able to have paid apps available to the whole world at launch. It took a long time before they were able to give access to canada, etc. They were able to offer free apps to many countries but remember that Amazon doesn't make any money from free stuff with ads, only paid apps.
So why do they offer free apps such as Rio and Doodle Jump? So you come back to their store and buy other apps there.
 
Looking for an answer on the Angry Birds Apps regarding size of file.

I got the free app Angry Birds Rio from Amazon when it launched on the free app of the day. It says on Amazon that the file size is 12.5MB. However when I go to my phone, I see it on my SD card and it shows only 2.32MB I also noticed that on the main menu of the game Smugglers Den is available but Jungle Escape is locked and then there are May 2011, July 2011, Oct 2011, Nov 2011 are all empty. Can anyone explain this?

Also since I love the free one I went back to Amazon and paid 99 cents for the original Angry Birds and 99 cents for the Seasons. I noticed too that when looking on my SD card 2.43MB and 2.19MB show up for the paid ones.

I thought maybe since I got the free Rio one that I will get updates later on more levels but when I paid for the other ones there showing about the same size on my SD card when Amazons site says there are alot larger size.
 
Dang no matter how good this game looks and runs i have been MAJORLY put off anything to do with that dam Rio film due to Orange's orange wednesday advert.
GOT to be the worst, most irritating advert, EVER made.

Angry Birds Rio will be in the Android Market this week, as told bij Rovio on Twitter.
 
It's on the Market now in the UK. I just happened to be looking at the Market and saw it there. Works nicely on my HTC Desire.
 
Interesting bc I was under the impression that this game would be one of the many never coming to the android market...I'll assume this is an ad version bc its free, but any version is better then no version.
