Help animations

How do I turn off the animations? (for example, if I press Power, the screen should just turn off as it did before...but now, it has a brief animation similar to that of an old-style TV turning off)

I've just upgraded to ICS from Gingerbread. I used to have all animations off, which seemed to save battery.

If you go to system settings, then go to developer options, there are a couple of options for animations. One of those may help you.

Perfect. There are two areas for transition animations, and various speeds with "10x" being the slowest animation, all the way down to no animation. Thanks so much.
