... and then add in immortal souls still repeating the re-incarnation cycle of mortal combat for whomever they possess and you have Ikki Tousen.
 
Does Ikki Tousen have a decent plot? I googled it and it looks like it could be an excuse to be just another ecchi anime...oddly enough I am not exactly a huge fan of ecchi anime unless it has something extra that grabs my interest (yeah my avatars reflect that so well I know :D) The last thing I watched I would classify as ecchi High School of the Dead and I am not sure I could have made it thru that if it hadn't been zombies.
 
I think the plot is _ok_ and honestly, the ecchi is so pushed that it's cartoony, not even attempting coquettish, seductive, or titillating. That element was more of a rompish eye-roller than anything else, and not a lead-in to teenage romance or repressed blah blah blah.

What I think it had going for it that kept me in was an interesting premise, whose little subtlety was maintained, and endearing protagonists, love-to-hate villians, and some in-between characters that you end up caring which way they go.

Ideally, you want a good story with good characters, but a good plot with characters that you couldn't care less about is pretty boring.

So - intriguing premise, stays true to it, good character development, ok story, and the ecchi you eye roll and go along with, not unlike a James Bond movie.

In my defense, I like Masterpiece Theater, but I needed a break from the more pedestrian artwork of Moribito.
 
Alright I might check it out (which means I will add it to my already too long list :p)

I really need to stop reading what Early posts it puts more and more on my watch/read this list :D

It's end of the Holy Shonen Trinity ,probably by december 2012 .I bet the mayans predicted it is as doom .
On side note Arrancar Arc was 6 years long lol :D
Naruto is stretching things ,Bleach is in it's last arc and One piece is well ,funny , :D

I was impressed by this weeks Bleach .Probably the hype ,probably cos the arc looks very different ,or probably the three week hiatus .
 
Subs leave lot to be desired .However Minato is kickass ,too good of a fighter .
I don't think anyone else is near him except Itachi or Jiraya .
New background score .And tobi makes you believe he is Madara Uchiha.
 
So I finally got around to starting Brave 10...finished 2 episodes today...It is pretty good, animation is very pretty
 
True .but I fail to see the logic behind marici .saizo is cut to death in almost every episode. Sasuke is never cut on the other hand . Ana and sasuke have very fine acrobatic attacks .saizo just has heavy sword and shunko (every episode ends with saizo using shunko and wounded )
Loved sanada as a character .
 
Saizo's propensity for getting cut down and standing up, then having no apparent issues, reminds me of Marv from Sin City.

As I wrote that, it struck me that there must some character archetype for that, but it's eluding me. For an instant, Shane came to mind.

My guess is he will be showing growth over the course of the series and has more potential. When Sasuke was beating him up it was being said that Saizo needs someone to serve so he will strive to be better.

On a completely different note has anyone watched Another Looks like it will be a nice and creepy anime. I watched the first 2 episodes before work today, I am not too impressed with the main character seeming to be a complete idiot but maybe that will pan out...
