Help Annoying Advertisement Notifications

BCDC

Lurker
Hi Gang,

I have installed a bunch of apps on my HTC One X in the past 2-3 months. Since installing one of the apps, I now get a notification every morning that relates to an advertisement trying to sell me something. It is very annoying.

I have tried to find the app that is the culprit, but I cannot find out how to turn this off. I assume it is an app that is causing this. Maybe I am wrong???

Any suggestions?

There's a sticky post about this in the Android Applications forum. It's push advertising. It's on its way out, but still an annoyance at the moment.

The post I mention includes instructions on how to find the culprit.

Download 'Addons Detecor' from the Play Store. It will scan all your apps and tell you which add ons those apps have, including the ones that put ads on your notifications.

If you have MP3 Music Downloader, I can tell you right off the bat that it does have that add on.

Download AirPush remover from the Play store, adnt will remove this. It piggybacked on one of your apps.
