Annoying S3 stock video player issue!!

I've had my White S3 for almost a month now and my love for it keeps growing!! However there is 1 little issue that has recently cropped up that at times can be very frustrating.

When playing any video on the stock video player, the video will stop-start every 5 seconds or so. It's somethng similar to what happens when we "buffer" a streaming video.

Is anyone experiencing the same? I can easliy switch to custom ones like MX but wanted to know if this a default issue across the board or something specific to my unit

I watch mine at the gym every day while on the treadmill and I have never had a problem like that. What types of files? Or does it happen with multiple formats?

I've never had this happen with any video I've played through the stock player. In fact, I think the stock player is so good that I've ditched all third party video apps.

However, if you're not experiencing this issue using a different video player from the market like Dice or MX, it's probably because these players default to software decode mode when their hardware accelerated playback option doesn't support the file. The stock player uses only hardware acceleration, which is better IMO since it drains less battery. Depending on how the video was encoded, you may have no choice but to watch it using a software decoding player.

Have you tried other videos? I have used mine for video multiple times without problems.

Also, you can try MX Player to make sure it is not the file that is at fault.

Well i use youtube video downloader to convert videos into MP4 format. These used to work just fine on S1, but somehow give me this issue on the S3..and that to it suddenly started to happen. All i recollect is i recently upgraded firmware to the "modified" 4.0.4 version that was released a week or two back
