Anonomous APP

[xguy]

Does anyone know of an app that if I send a text that would block my number? I tried *67 and it don't work. I have a Droid X and can't find setting that will do that.

Thanks in advance.

Not off-hand, no. You may also want to question as to 'why'. If the activity in question is illegal, you may not find an app for it.

Also, it may be a technical limitation since texts go out through your service provider and your phone number, not the internets.

There are apps and the internet but I just wanted to find the easiest. It also is not illegal or there would be no *67.

Might want to try this out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...clockwork.apps.android.anonymoustexting&hl=en

I've had people *67 me before. There's ways around it, and I got the number anyway. I thought you meant truly anonymous.

OP: If you don't have any luck with an anonymizing solution, the next best thing might be to try a text-over-data app and configure a throwaway account. For example, HeyWire let's you text anyone anywhere, the number is unique and isn't tied to you, and is not available via reverse 411. If you don't use the account for 30 days, the account is cancelled and the tel# gets put back into the pool of available numbers.
