Another Dinc2

The wife phone is giving her issues again, and she got fed up and called Vzw. So after putting her through the factory reset and it didn't fix her issues, they are going to send her another phone. This will make the 4th phone since Nov. 2011.

Does anyone know if they will send another refurbished Dinc2 or something else? Do they still have these phones, I wonder.

Vzw did try to get her to do an early upgrade and get the Droid DNA for $99. Is this phone worth the $99 and a new 2 year contract. To me it's not, but she is interested in a different phone, but she wants the S3/S4.

What are your thoughts?

Thnx.

They will most likely send another refurbished Dinc2, so i would try and ask Vzw if they will let her upgrade to the S3/S4 instead of the DNA. Or she could get the DNA and find someone willing to trade her

Sounds like something we can try. I'll let her know about what you said and go from here.

Thnx.

If you are due for an upgrade, check out Amazon or Wirefly. Just took a peek at Wirefly and they have the GS3 for $30 on contract.

If you're a Bank of America customer, sign up for Add it Up, access Wirefly through that, buy the S3 for $30 and in a month or so you will get $50 back and you make out for $20 and you get a better phone.

I've bought my last two phones that way. When my wife and I got our DINC2s they paid me to get them. Phones were free on contract, two cases ($25) and two car chargers ($20). Got $50 back from Add it Up.

I just bought my Note 2 for $200 on contract minus the $50.

The wife is not eligible for an official upgrade until July. Vzw said HTC was offering the Droid DNA to current customers who already have an HTC Phone.

She just got another Dinc2 from Fedex today and so far so good!

Gotcha. I replaced my phone under warranty a month or so before I switched. My power button was being a pain and I finally had enough. The replacement was fine. Now that it is unlocked and not in normal use it's my "Global" phone since the Note 2 doesn't readily accept additional APNs, or at least I haven't found a good way around it yet, but I'm still reading up on the new phone.

Well the latest replacement, it seems the charger port is not working. We can't get it to charge and we took it to a corporate store, they gave us another battery but it wasn't fully charged. We got home and tried charging it and nothing.

So now they going to send her another replacement phone, this will be the 4th one, I think. She is going to wait it out for contract to expire and we both will be dumping Vzw.

it sounds like VZW has been taking care of you. Why drop them because HTC sucks?

Not so much this HTC phone sucks but they offered other phones but it have a cost along with a new 2 year contract. Two of the phones are an HTC DNA, I can understand a cost for that one but the other one was an HTC Droid 4G. When asked if they could just swap that phone for the Dinc2, they told us they can not swap a 3G phone for a 4G phone, along with a new contract. Besides, there are other reasons we are going to drop Vzw.

If you are switching to AT&T or Sprint and the other reason is price, you aren't going to gain anything there.

Before I got my Note, I researched prices. AT&T is $10 less for my exact plan and Sprint is the same price.

Yes, all three of those big carriers suck if you ask me. We dumped ATT a few years ago. I was with U.S. Cellular with a dumb phone at $50 unlimited Talk & Text, the wife ended up buying me this smartphone as a Christmas present.

She's unsatisfied with the Dinc2 and as a replacement, she accepted an HTC Rhyme. I'm not sure how good it is but she will use it until contract is up in Nov. for her and Dec. for me.
