Another Droid, another problem.

I'm really looking forward to ICS and seeing what improvements it brings, as I really love the Android OS and, for the most part, my Droid X. However, for everything awesome that Android is, there are a few issues which absolutely ruin the user experience for me and make me contemplate an iPhone (gasp).

The first issue is the constant and random dropping of data/WiFi services. It is maddening to be in the middle of doing something and have to restart your WiFi services. From the threads I've read, it isn't exclusive to the Droid X.

The second issue is the constant duplication of sent and received text messages. Again, from what I've read, this isn't exclusive to the Droid X, but may be exclusive to Android devices on Verizon Wireless. Either way, getting 6 of the same text messages in a row from someone on a constant basis is ruining my enjoyment of my phone.

The final issue is the bugs in the applications. In one way, I have trouble blaming Android for 3rd party Dev's app issues, but on the other hand, I can fault their QC processes. I use Launcher Pro because the stock launcher, well... sucks. I also use a third party music player because the stock music player, well... sucks. Both of these apps give me huge issues with force closes. I've tried replacement apps, but the functionality just isn't there. I paid for these apps. It would be nice if they were forced to function by Google as long as they're still collecting revenue.

I'm not sure if anyone is having these problems, please let me know. I'm hoping they are fixed in ICS, as I really enjoy the OS and phones and would like to get the Nexus Prime, but may jump to iOS if they aren't ironed out.

I used to have a number of those issues with my DX. The text messaging thing was particularly annoying. Happened with Gtalk, too. Since I switched to my Evo 3D on Sprint, I've rarely have had problems with texting. I use Google Voice, too.

The wifi problem: Is it your home router or work/school? If it's work/school, then yeah, it's an Android problem. If it's your home router, my DX was flawless with it. You might have to change channels or reset it.

But without specifics in regards to what apps are FCing, I don't think anyone can help.
