Another Google Voice Question

I just found an unexpected Google Voice invite in my email inbox and got everything set up. I was hoping to have invites to share as well, but I didn't get any to give. Are they not giving them to everyone who signs up right now? Does it take a while for them to give you? Will they possible show up in a few days? I really wanted to pass some on to people on here....
 
My buddy, who just gave me an invite, said as you use it and the more you use it the more invites you get to give out. Same goes for google wave.

I didn't get any invites for awhile, then one day they just magically appeared! But I wouldn't bet on getting any invites for a little while.
