another HDMI connection problem

Got an odd HDMI problem...

My wife and I both have Galaxy S3s. When I connnect my phone to a KiDiGi HDMI dock it works a treat, but my wife's S3 only charges I.e. no HDMI connection.

Both on v4.1.2

Any ideas?

Have a close look at the phone's microUSB connector for debris.
The five pins which are visible in front of the connector are just for the USB functions like charging and for a data connection to a PC.
The other pins for connecting to the dock's MHL-to-HDMI adapter are deeply positioned into the connector.
