Help Another newbie question

I have a droid razon HD running 4.0.4...The dumb question..When the hone boots up it first "Droids" me and then makes a cheesy broken glass noise. How can I stop that silliness...

On a related point, How can I change the phone ringer to a song from my music selection?

By turning off your system volume, I.E. by making your phone on vibrate will get rid of these noises on boot up...otherwise the only way is by rooting/roming your device.

Secondly, you can download an app like Ringtone Maker and this will let you choose songs to make ringtones then it will automatically add them to your ringtone selection list.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: We have also moved your thread into the RAZR HD forums so that it can be better seen and responded to by other RAZR HD owners.

In the event any phone designers are reading this, please include an option for silent boot and silent shutdown. Nobody is interested in hearing these sound effects!

They probably thought it'd be cute rather than annoying that it is.

Just need root and an app like root explorer. Go into system/media and rename droidpu.ogg to whatever. Stops the boot up sound.

Thanks! There is a good chance I will root just to stop this behavior at boot up. On the other hand I notice this phone rarely crashes compared to my DROID X. So I've only booted it a handful of times in the two weeks I have had it...
