I am about ready to buy my first smartphone. i know...where ya been?

What is important to me is the following:

1. GPS-i would like to get rid of my GPS unit and use the phone for that. I do a lot of travelling for work. I would like turn by turn and preferable free.

2. Email- I need something that makes it easy to sync both my personal account and office.

3- Calendar- like the email I would like to sync my office calendar. I use Outlook at work.

4. Cam- not real important

5. 4g- my area is not quite 4g but i expect it will be in the next year.

I always try to buy the latest and greatest when it comes to technology. I don't like being behind the curve before it is out of the box. I am on Verizon and will stay there.

Right now I am thinking about the TB, the Charge or waiting for the Bionic. My concern with the TB is the battery life which I have read a lot of bad reviews about. The Samsung doesn't seem to get alot of love on these forums and I have no idea why. The Bionic is just a matter of will i be waiting forever.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

I have a TB and love it. I would highly recommend it. Really you should just go into a Verizon store on Thursday and play with the Charge and the Bolt to see which you like better. Don't let the battery deter you from the Bolt. It really isn't that bad.

How about the differences between Motoblur v. Sense v. TouchWiz?

My problem with trying them out is that since I have never used a smartphone it is hard for me to get a true comparison.

I'd go for a Google Nexus S. It has GPS, Email, a 5MP camera. Im think that its also coming on 4G... there are rumors on Engadget...

I think a cellphone will never beat a standalone GPS (At least not now). Just my personal opinion. :D

Not so sure about that.... I went to Florida to visit my g/f's aunt in February and the GPS was spot on.... The directions it gave me were like having someone local sitting in the seat next to me. Clear voice and decent warning time for turns, etc.
Device is a DX (Moto) and it is rooted and hotrodded about as far as it can go (for today...)
