Internet boosters are a myth. None works.

Until just now, I would emphatically agree with you. But I still try them, thinking that someday, one of them will work... a born dreamer.

Today I installed Network Speed Booster, expecting nothing. And then I tested its tethering, on and off, with speedtest.net. Ping and upload speeds didn’t change, but downloads were almost 3 times faster!

So even though I think it’s impossible, I’m using it.

Someone else please try this and prove I’m insane.

What do you mean by "its tethering"? Are you perhaps using terminology that you don't understand?

Which flat-text compression proxy are you implicitly trusting with your web communications? That's how such "web accelerators" work, you know ... all your web requests go through a proxy which submits them to the target website, then transmits a compressed copy of any compression-eligible returned results to your installed client which uncompresses them.

Of course, these proxies would never systematically analyze your web communications for useable/saleable data content, would they?
