Another update to the MoDaCo custom ROM has been released

version 2.6 has been released, the only addition from the last version (2.5.1) is...

Changes:

MCR now includes Wavesecure in ROM, allowing you to lock / locate / wipe your device remotely in the event of loss and be notified if the SIM is changed. The application cannot be uninstalled by a thief and we are actively working with Wavesecure to ensure that in a forthcoming release, your settings will survive a hard reset!

Looks great. I hope they're successful with the settings surviving a hard reset thing.

I've got 2.2 and I wonder if you would be kind enough to answer a couple of questions for me. 1st - I've still for the files from my first root and update on my sdcard including the update.zip file. Do I need to keep these or can I now delete? 2nd - I assume the new up date you mention above is contained within an update.zip file? Once copied on the sdcard what action do I take for the phone to use it?

Just delete the existing files on your SD card and copy over new one (renamed to update), boot to recovery by holding down power and home, then choose option in recovery menu to run update.zip from sd. You should be able to flash 2.6 over 2.2 without having to wipe first.
