Hi guys-
I am looking for an"Answering Machine" type app that after 3 or so rings will give a pre recorded message, beep, then record the callers message on the phone itself..

Hello and welcome!!
Are you looking for something in particular?
Who is your carrier and what device/model do you have?
Would not the carriers voicemail suffice?

US Cell, Galaxy s5
I am looking for more privacy-not being forced to retrieve messages from a server.

Thanks

Ah, ok...not even sure that's available, but I could be wrong.
I'm sure someone can shed more light on this subject!

Some tell me that with the Android OS it may not be possible...if so I would like to know the mechanics behind the reason.

Thanks!

Anyone?

If your phone is switched off or in a poor reception area nobody would be able to leave you a message so having a handset based message retrieval service would not be very efficient.

Its on all the time and I have not in years had issues with poor reception.
