Root Anthrax Kernel Stock ROM EVO V

Sorry for the noob question, but after searching, I was unable to find an answer. I figured asking for help instead of trial, error and bricking my phone would be a better choice. I have unlocked my bootloader thorugh HTC Dev, flashed 4EXT recovery and rooted my phone. I wanted to have the ability to overclock the cpu slightly but I do not want to lose any functionality such as cameras or any other stock items as I use almost every aspect of the phone. I originally rooted just to dump the bloatware but wouldn't mind a little boost as long as it isn't going to mess things up. Any help greatly appreciated.

Have you looked into Midnight Rom? I only ask because supposedly everything is working, and it already has Anthrax baked in. If you're not interested in that, I'm sure we can help you find the correct version of Anthrax.

Thank you. Yeah the midnight looks great, I just didn't want to have to do the s-off to gain full functionality . I am happy so far with the stock Rom I'm mainly just looking to overclock a little. I am just unsure if Anthrax can be flashed with the stock Rom. And if so what version. Is it true still that Midnight Rom may have glitches still if you are s-on unlocked and rooted? My biggest concern is losing features. I'm not willing to give those up to have small gains in speed as the phone is fairly peppy already. IThanks.

I'll be honest, I've never actually used Midnight, because I don't particularly like the sense theme. But as for some of the features not working while you're still S-ON, I would just go and ask in that thread. I'm sure someone will have tried it, or will just know whether it'll work or not. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I'm on Mobster with anthrax and it works very well. I'm s-off and did the 'turn your phone into an evo 3d' job. Compared to the origanal phone it's like a whole new phone. well worth all the work. Got s-off on the first go.

I'll admit, sticking wires into your phone seems like a one way ticket to brick city at first. I'm like OP, I don't want to lose features to gain performance, and this phone is pretty strong out of the box anyway. I finally did s-off after being on JMZ rooted stock for 3 months, and it was very worth it and not at all hard, just a little confusing. Read the page, watch the video a couple times to get the timing, and you'll have it in no time. Then you don't have to mess around with workarounds. Midnight is great, everything works and then some. Similar to stock but better in many ways. And the over clock options are great.

Can you overclock with the Anthrax kernel on Mobster?

It might seem like a dangerous thing to do at first but once you understand exactly what you're doing it actually makes sense and not nearly as hazardous as it looks at first. You're not shorting anything out, all you are doing is taking a pull down resistor low by grounding it to the sd card frame. This puts the phone into an engineering boot. See not nearly as crazy as it seems at first. Compared to getting s-off on the wildfire by building a working Gold Card the wire trick is actually much easier.
As far as functionality goes Midnight rom has everything working, just better and faster. I run my phone at 384 -1.566 as my daily driver with absolutely no issues.

so the mobster rom with anthrax is for the evo 3d since you did the evo 3d gig? also with the turn your phone into an evo 3d, you can use evo 3d and evo g roms?

Anyone having a problem where anthrax keeps changing governor to power saver even though I set it to on demand? It changes itself after a few minutes even when I'm using the phone....

Yeah it turns out that the gold card method breaks the misc.img a little

How is your battery life? I tried it for a day and it seemed hungry.

I tried both of the Mobster Roms. Reg. and Vanilla and as soon as I flashed the Anthrax kernel woth both of them I lost my USB connection. Any fix for that. I kinda liked the Mobster Rom but no USB is not an option.

Why, you can always use Bluetooth or even Airdroid with wifi for any file transfers that you need to make. I don't know if there's any fix, I use Midnight for my daily.
