Anti Virus App

If I ever truly, TRULY get a virus on any Android device of mine, I will truly, TRULY smash it to tiny pieces with my 16 pound sledge, set the pieces on fire, and buy a Jitterbug.

Adware, malware, I'm fine with.. but really, REALLY a virus? No way I'd keep that OS.
 
I've heard people say that there is no need for anti virus software on a Droid.

I'm still on the fence about an antivirus software......it's a "better safe than sorry" thing.

I learned my lesson about that with Windows back in the Vista days. Everything was fine until I installed McCafee (spelling?) anti-virus. Not a week later I was hit with a virus.

The way I see it is, if a tech knows viruses well enough to write a program against them, they know two other things: how to write a virus, and how to defeat anti-virus software.
 
I haven't used an Antivirus app but did have Lookout installed on my phone till it started causing my phone to act up. I removed it and haven't used any other since.

I use Linux on my home computer and have never ran an antivirus program and never had a virus either. I really believe for Android, it's not needed unless maybe you deal with Windows OS alot.

If I was to use an antivirus on Android, which I have when I have Windows installed on my computers, I would run Avast antivirus!
 
The antivirus that found me serious viruses (trojans) is zoner,the only one that saw them,others (lookout,avg,ikarus,nq) failed.It's also excellent for finding adwares and perhaps the only one that permits to see them in detail (airpush,leadbolt and the others,much better than avg,avast does not reveal them).

Also very good now and very precise trust go (but it uses perhaps too much ram for my phone),and avl (the lightest,only 1,5 ram,but it has great precision with adwares and found 1 trojan in another phone not mine's,anyway it has a very good reputation).
 
I use Kaspersky, partly because I got a bargain on Kaspersky One which includes phon/tablet. Main reason I use it on my devices is because it also has anti-theft, including remote photo's and remote GPS activation.
