Antivirus Apps

If these Antivirus app are not really needed as some experts are saying. Well what are they doing in your device?

They aren't on my device....

(btw this isn't the official support forum for Security Antivirus, so there's no way of knowing if the app developer/company is ever going to read this.. This is just a forum for people who want to talk about that app)

If these Antivirus app are not really needed as some experts are saying. Well what are they doing in your device?

Because the "antivirus" companies pay certain manufacturers and carriers to preload them onto their phones and tablets. Not much different really to Norton and McAfee paying manufacturers to have their products preloaded onto new Windows PCs.

Yes. I agree. On android device don't need any antivirus app. It's just useless.

I've had T-Mobile and Metro since 2012. Lookout has always been preloaded. I've always disabled it.

T-Mobile has an agreement (as Mikedt pointed out) with Lookout and the Jump plan where you get the "Premium" version free

I agree with Rogen6,you do not need an antivirus app on you Android device, I would delete it.
