That's really more of a personal preference. I have had them and I have not had them and I find no real difference. Android to this point is not as heavily attacked as other Operating Systems, that said it certainly won't hurt as long as it's not to costly and does not slow down the performance of your phone. (Some I have had would scan each updated app and each download and it got cumbersome)
