Antivirus scanned downloaded software while web browsing

This evening, I was using my phone to look at the BBC web site (m.bbc.co.uk). As one of the pages was loading in, AVG (antivirus software) kicked in and displayed it was scanning downloaded software. I have never seen this before while web browsing.

AVG did not report a problem with that particular scan and I subsequently used it to scan the entire phone (folders as well as what is on the SD card) and it did not find any issues, the phone was clean.

Has anyone else seen a similar message come up while web browsing? I use the default browser in the phone (Google Chrome, in some form?).

Thanks in advance. :)

1. The Default Browser is not Chrome in any way or form.

2. Depends on what webpage you may be looking, there may be some flash content

3. Meh, you don't really need an AV on an Android phone.

I think you're good. It's very rare to get a virus on android and the most common way is to download a bad app from the google play store.
I had something similar happen to me once on Wendys website and it did no harm.
