Root Antutu automatically reboots phone

I've tried running antutu on both BO 3.0 and the latest eclipse, and evrytime the test is abiut to start, the phone reboots. Anyone else experience this? The phone reboots probably four or five times a day, randomly, but always when trying to run antutu. Any thoughts?

What overclock speed are you using?

I tried with the initial setting, 1512 i believe, then again with the highest setting, 18** (can't remember the last two digits for some reason) . This was after a fresh install, first and only app downloaded at the time. I did full wipes before flashing, just came off of the latest eclipse.

i could understand if you are overclocking and it reboots because not all phones can handle overclocking. But if it's crashing with stock settings there may be a problem with the phone. Try running it on the stock rom and see if it reboots.

I'll give it a shot. Picked up the spectrum as a cheap replacement ($90 with a couple covers and spare battery!) to a lost razr, still learning the different methods, but having fun. I appreciate the help, especially as a newcomer. To this forum. Thanks again

As a sidenote, i downloaded and installed bo 3.0, yet under phone info/ software info, it shows 2.0. Did i grab a mislabeled zip or is the software version under about phone labeled wrong? I apologize if this has been previously discussed, but I'm only about halfway through the lengthy BO thread

you're on 3. The dev of BO forgets to update the version name though :p

i guess it just doesnt like some phones

I have had reboots with it before but it usually runs fine even when I'm overclocked to 1.8ghz

I have both romtoolbox and titanium installed. In logcat I noticed a lot of io write errors when it came to busybody & sqlight. I realized that titanium backup was using both of these and different versions than what BO was using so I uninstalled the TB and haven't had a reboot since. Running antutu and like 6 tabs of a browser trying to Max out resources. All seems to be well and now I'm running steady at 1.8. I think I've finally got it. Will report back on this after a day or two.

Edit
Also put a bag of ice on the back of the phone because I noticed it was overheating. I think the bag of ice was preventing the reboots

This might help some others:
I solved my reboot problem by using ONDEMAND governor.
It seems that some phones do not like 1.8 with any other governor than ondemand...for instance, that is the only one that allowed me to even use ANTUTU without a reboot. With any other governor, 1.8 will force reboots under heavy graphics rendering and data usage.

So either 1.7 with smartass3 works fine and never reboots for me - or 1.8 with on demand works fine - regardless, the phone is so fast with either of these settings, that I am pleased.

Is anyone using something other than Rom toolbox for managing profiled overclocking? I don't think it works... does not matter what my profile rules are set to, when I check the cpu setting it is always set to max...

Occasionally I'll see the "granted root permission" message pop up from superuser, and if I check out well have changed the settings, but most of the time (read 7 out of 8 days, 24 hours a day) my spectrum is set to 1.8ghz all the time...

I to tried using profiles in RTB pro and I noticed they didnt work. I don't use profiles with any other apps though.

When rtb worked, I could go more than 2 days with minimal use and 18 hours of normal use, even 6-8 hours if moderate use.

Without it working I have to charge in the morning and again mid to late afternoon at 30-38% battery to make sure it did not die on me if I went out that night.

Phone weaver works good for profiles for everything but the cpu
