Antutu Benchmark

Can one of you download the Antutu benchmark from the market and post your Indulge's score? I'm just curious how the Indulge's Hummingbird performs on here since the Galaxy S II seems to be one of the top phones on this test.

Is your Indulge rooted and/or running a custom rom? Or is it stock? If it's not stock, can anyone with a stock Indulge run this benchmark and post their results?

If those results are really from a stock Indulge, and you didn't use overclocking, then that is pretty interesting, because I just upgraded to the Esteem..and have only pulled scores ranging from 2700 - 3180 with this benchmark app...which is way below the score you posted with your Indulge. I can't break 3200, while you hit 3500.

Yet on the Quadrant benchmark that most people use, I'm fairly certain my Esteem blows away the scores I was getting with my Indulge. My Indulge was always scoring in the 1000s...while my Esteem is in the 2000 - 2200 range. Perhaps the difference in Quadrant is due to Android 2.2 vs 2.3?

These Antutu results make me wonder if this benchmark is more up to date than Quadrant and whether or not it's more focused on gpu performance than the other benchmark apps, because I have heard that Samsung's Hummingbird has a more powerful gpu than Qualcomm's Snapdragon which is used in the Esteem. Then again...the Indulge's screen resolution is only 320x480 while the Esteem is running on 480x800, so the Indulge will usually have a higher framerate in most cases. That could also be the difference right there.

Its not overclocked, I don't trust apps like that as it can ruin your phone and I don't see the need anyway as the phone is fast as it is, and since my phone is rooted, I have bloatware removed. And yes the hummingbird processor is much faster and better. The galaxy s/s2 devices all use it.

Yeah it really is a shame that the Indulge had to be released as a watered down version of the galaxy phones because it really had the potential to be a very high end phone. I have run a couple games on the playstation emulator with the Esteem and I'm certain that the Indulge had a higher framerate and ran them smoother. Unfortunately though that's just about one of the only areas where I feel the Indulge has an advantage over the Esteem. In my opinion a phone like the Esteem should not have been a overall better phone than the Indulge, but because of how much the Indulge was crippled, that ends up being the case.

I couldn't agree more, I thought that as well. I mean metro could have worked with samsung to make it apart of the s2 family just by adding a amoled display and some other tweakings because the indulge has alot of potential which most don't know about. The least they could have done was include a 5 Megapixel camera as opposed to the 3 it comes with.. that would make more sense considering the price and it was their flagship 4G phone before the esteem.

Tested it twice just now,, no idea how to post screenshots as I cant seem to get the hang of it & will not pay for apps, So, my results were as follows:

1st test, phone was running whatever it was no apps except antutu open:3398

checked program monitor was using 178mb ram,, cleared programs etc..

ran 2nd test:3434

changed to stock screen background

3rd test:3476

Phone was rooted to remove boatware & that's about it. I've tried using some rooted programs/apps since & it says it isn't rooted, so

Anyways, cheers!

Well if you rooted it then it should be rooted. Do you see a superuser app on your phone? If so then its rooted.

I only did the bloatware removal root. I've tried the basix a went back because I'm not savvy enough to keep it working properly. Plus my phone is buggy as hell: randomly resets itself if the battery is too low, erases everything & goes as much to stock as possible, the screen lock stops working which requires a reset,, I sort of hate this phone to be honest. If it had more internal memory it'd probably be fine, idk. If it weren't for google saving my contacts & thus allowing me to restore them I'd probably switch carriers entirely. But I'm too cheap/broke to do so atm, so I stay. :/
